Match Overview
One of the biggest games of the opening round of the new season of the UEFA Champions League will be played between Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund on 19 September, Tuesday at the Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris. Both these teams are extremely well-matched with each other, and we can expect a battle amongst equals, in a manner of speaking.
Key Highlights
This will be the fifth time that these two teams are clashing against each other. Out of the four times that they have done so in the past, two were drawn encounters. Both these teams have won one game apiece against each other. When they last met against each other in March 2020 at the same venue, Paris Saint-Germain emerged winners by a 2-0 scoreline.
Injury Report
Both these teams have a long list of injured players in their ranks. For PSG, Sergio Rico, Nuno Mendes, Presnel Kimpembe and Kang-in Lee among others have been ruled out. For Dortmund, Thomas Meunier, Mateu Morey and Julien Duranville will be missing in action.
Prediction
Neither PSG nor Borussia Dortmund appear to be the downright favourites to win this game. We expect BTTS (both teams to score) in this game. While PSG have won just two out of the last five matches that they have played, Borussia Dortmund have been unbeaten in all five of theirs. This means that both teams are on quite an equal pedestal coming into this game.
