Match Overview
Looking for hiding space after the humiliating 1-6 thrashing they received in the hands of Newcastle United on Sunday, there will be no respite for the Christian Stellini-managed Tottenham Hotspur as they face off against a resurgent Manchester United, albeit at home, on Thursday. The visitors, on the other hand, come into this game on the back of a marvellous penalty shootout they won against Brighton in the semifinal of the FA Cup.
Key Highlights
Harry Kane was the only one on point for Tottenham on Sunday, along with a few bits and pieces from Heung Min Son. They will have to put in a much-improved performance if they intend to stand up to the challenge that Erik ten Hag's Red Devils will bring to London midweek, with the likes of Antony, Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes thirsting for glory in front of goal. United also have the better defence of the two teams.
Injury Report
Yves Bissouma, Ryan Sessegnon, Rodrigo Bentancur, Hugo Lloris and Emerson Royal will all be missing in action for the home team while Manchester United too have a long list of injured players in their ranks. While Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Donny van de Beek continue to be long-term absentees, Scott McTominay and Alejandro Garnacho too will be missing.
Prediction
Manchester United appear to be the overwhelming favourites to win this game. They will want to continue the momentum that they have gathered and look to keep pressing forward and cement the third place in the Premier League table for the near future at least. Tottenham Hotspur as a club are in the doldrums, and we do not expect them to put up a big fight.
